Privacy Policy

The short version

There are no accounts and no sign up. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number in order to use the generator. The only thing that leaves your browser is the text you choose to style, and it is used to build your result and to show what other visitors have shared for the same words.

What stays in your browser

Three small values are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never reach our server and they are not cookies:

• Your theme choice — whether you picked light or dark mode.
• Your favorites — the list of styles you saved with the heart button.
• A short-lived request token — a technical value that lets the page talk to our generator, kept for the length of your visit.

Clearing your browser data removes all three. Nothing is lost except your saved styles.

What is sent to our server

When you press Generate, the text in the box is sent to our own generator service. We use it to:

• build the styled versions and the matching emoji set;
• look up the versions other visitors have already shared for the same words;
• count how often a word is styled and how often each version is copied, so the site can show what is popular.

These counts are totals. They are not tied to you, and there is no profile behind them.

Your IP address is seen by our server as part of any normal web request. We use it to stop automated abuse of the generator and nothing else. It is not published anywhere on the site and it is not shown next to shared styles.

Text you choose to share

If you use the Share your own version box, the styled text you submit becomes publicly visible to every other visitor who looks up the same words. Please do not put anything private in it — no real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or account details. Submissions containing blocked words, or anything that looks like contact details, are filtered out automatically, but you should assume anything you share is public.

Where it is stored: shared text sits in the generator’s own database alongside the words it belongs to, together with a like and copy count. It is not linked to a visitor account, because there are none.

How long it is kept: indefinitely, until you or we remove it. That is the point of a shared list — it stays useful to the next person who looks up the same words.

Aggregate usage figures

Once a day our server sends a summary of which words were styled that week, and how many separate visitors styled each one, to our own analytics infrastructure. It is a list of words and numbers. It contains no IP addresses, no identifiers, and no way to link a word back to a visitor. Text that looks like a phone number, an email address or a web address is dropped before the summary is built.

We use this only to decide which topics are worth writing about.

Third parties

• Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google’s font service, so your IP address and browser details are visible to Google when a page loads. See Google’s own privacy policy for what they do with that.
• Our service providers — the text-processing and emoji services that produce your result run on infrastructure we operate or rent. They receive the text you submitted and nothing else about you.
• Our hosting and security provider — as with any website, our host handles the raw traffic, including IP addresses, in order to serve pages and block attacks.

We do not sell data, we do not run advertising networks on this site, and we do not share anything with data brokers.

Analytics and cookies

We run no analytics product on this site. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Facebook pixel, no heatmap or session-recording tool, and no advertising network. The only script the page loads is the site’s own, which is what makes the generator work.

A normal visit sets no cookies at all. The three values described above live in your browser’s local storage, are never transmitted, and are readable only by this site.

Two exceptions, both of which you trigger yourself: leaving a comment on an article lets WordPress offer to remember your name and email in a cookie so you do not have to retype them, and logging in to the admin area sets the session cookies WordPress needs. Neither happens to an ordinary reader.

How long things are kept

The popularity counters keep a rolling window of the last 35 days and older rows are deleted automatically. Styles shared through the contribution box stay until removed. Server logs are kept by our host for their standard retention period.

Your rights

Because we run no accounts and no analytics, there is normally nothing personal for us to look up about you. What we can act on is anything you actively submitted.

You can ask us to delete text you shared, ask what we hold that relates to you, or object to how we handle something. One email is enough and we do not require you to prove an identity we never collected.

Depending on where you live, statute may give you further rights — the Digital Personal Data Protection Act in India, the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California. Those rights apply to us to the extent the law reaches us, and you may complain to your national data protection authority if you think we have handled something badly.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If the way the site handles data changes, this page changes with it and the date below is updated.
