Stylish Name: 500 Ideas + Free Stylish Name Maker
A stylish name is a name rewritten in alternative Unicode characters so the styling survives copy and paste. 500 ideas sorted by platform, 26 name frames, and a measured answer on which styles keep your capital letter.

Type a name above and all 104 styles render at once, ready to copy. Below: 500 ready-made stylish names sorted by where you will actually use them, 26 frames for wrapping a name in brackets, and a measured answer to the question nobody else covers — whether a styled name keeps its capital letter.
“Stylish name” means four different things
A stylish name is a name rewritten with alternative Unicode characters — 𝓐𝓲𝓼𝓱𝓪, ᴀɪsʜᴀ, Aisha — so the styling survives copy and paste into a profile — an Instagram display name, a WhatsApp profile, a Messenger group. That much is simple. What makes the term confusing is that four quite different jobs share it, and picking the wrong one wastes your time.
| What you want | What you actually need | Where to go |
|---|---|---|
| Your own name, styled | A converter — you supply the name | The tool at the top of this page |
| Ideas, because nothing looks right | A browsable list to copy from | The 500 ideas below |
| Brackets around a name | Paired frames, not more letters | Name frames |
| To know which style is safe to use | Per-style behaviour and platform rules | Font style for name |
One thing a stylish name is not: a font you install. Nothing is downloaded and nothing changes on the reader’s device. You are swapping the letters themselves for different characters that happen to look like decorated letters, which is why the effect travels — and also why some apps refuse them.
500 stylish name ideas
Fifty per section, grouped by where the name is going rather than by style name, because the platform decides what will actually save. Tap any name to copy it. Every one is generated by the same engine as the tool above, so your own name in the same style is one tap away.
Stylish names for boys
Heavier weights and blackletter shapes. Nothing here is technically male — the split is what people search for, not a property of the characters, and every style in this section works just as well on any other name.
Stylish names for girls
Softer cursive and rounded shapes, framed with petals and hearts. Same caveat as above: the grouping follows search demand, not any rule about who can use which style.
Stylish names for Instagram
These go in the Name field, not the @username. Instagram allows styled Unicode in the display name and bio; the handle stays letters, numbers, periods and underscores.
Stylish names for WhatsApp
The profile name accepts styled text. Keep these short — the profile name is displayed in narrow chat rows, and a long decorated name is the first thing to get truncated.
Stylish names for Facebook pages, groups and Messenger
Read this one before you copy: these are for a page name, group name or bio — not for your personal profile name. Facebook’s name standards ask for the name people know you by and disallow symbols and unusual capitalisation, and the mathematical alphabets that produce 𝓼𝓽𝔂𝓵𝓲𝓼𝓱 text are exactly the characters that get rejected. Group and Messenger group names have no such rule, which is where the real demand in this lane sits.
Big stylish names
Searches for a “big size” name are really asking for full-width characters. Unicode’s Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block was designed to make Latin letters occupy the same square as a CJK character, so Aisha genuinely renders wider than Aisha in the same font size — no image or font trick involved.
Stylish names with hearts
Hearts sit either side of the name rather than inside it. A heart between every letter looks busy at small sizes and makes the name much harder for anyone to actually read or retype.
Stylish names with stars and crowns
Crown and star marks are the oldest convention in this niche and still the most recognisable. One on each side is enough; three or more and the name stops reading as a name.
Cute and aesthetic stylish names
Small, low-contrast letterforms with one light accent. This is the group that reads as “aesthetic” rather than “gamer”, and the tiny variants stay one character per letter so they fit short fields.
Clean and minimal stylish names
The set with the fewest ways to go wrong: no combining marks, no rare blocks, nothing that turns into a box on an older phone. If a name has to work everywhere including a form field, start here.
26 frames for wrapping a name

A frame is a matched pair — one glyph before the name, its mirror after it. That is the whole trick behind ꧁ ༺ ༻ ꧂ and every variation of it. Tap to copy a finished example, then swap in your own name.
Frames are the cheapest way to make a plain name look deliberate, and they survive better than decorated letters do: the brackets are ordinary punctuation and symbol characters, so they rarely turn into boxes. The cost is length — a frame adds two to twelve characters to a field that may only allow thirty.
Does a stylish name keep your capital letter?
76 of the 104 styles keep the capital; 28 do not. We ran every style over “Aisha”, “aisha” and “AISHA” and compared the three outputs. Where all three come back identical, the style has flattened your name — the capital that starts it is gone, and there is no way to put it back.

This matters more for a name than for any other text. A name is a proper noun; the capital is part of how it is spelled. Most style lists never mention it, so people pick Small Caps or Squared for a profile and only notice later that their name reads as one undifferentiated block.
The styles that flatten a name, with “Aisha” and “aisha” side by side — identical columns mean the capital is lost:
| Style | “Aisha” becomes | “aisha” becomes |
|---|---|---|
| Small Caps | ᴀɪsʜᴀ | ᴀɪsʜᴀ |
| Squared | 🄰🄸🅂🄷🄰 | 🄰🄸🅂🄷🄰 |
| Dark Circle | 🅐🅘🅢🅗🅐 | 🅐🅘🅢🅗🅐 |
| Tiny Letters | ᵃⁱˢʰᵃ | ᵃⁱˢʰᵃ |
| Stylish Mix | αιรнα | αιรнα |
| Braille | ⠁⠊⠎⠓⠁ | ⠁⠊⠎⠓⠁ |
| Number Leet | 415h4 | 415h4 |
| Subscript | ₐᵢₛₕₐ | ₐᵢₛₕₐ |
| Spaced Out | A I S H A | A I S H A |
| Alternating | AiShA | AiShA |
The reason is not sloppy design, it is Unicode. Small Caps, Squared, Braille, Runic and the rest are drawn from blocks that only ever defined one case — there is no capital ᴀ to map a capital A onto, so every style built on them returns the same glyph either way. Seven further entries in the count are the deliberate case transforms (camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and friends), where flattening the case is the entire point.
Styles that do keep it — note how the first character differs from the rest:
| Style | “Aisha” becomes | “aisha” becomes |
|---|---|---|
| Cursive Script | 𝓐𝓲𝓼𝓱𝓪 | 𝓪𝓲𝓼𝓱𝓪 |
| Old English | 𝕬𝖎𝖘𝖍𝖆 | 𝖆𝖎𝖘𝖍𝖆 |
| Bold Sans | 𝗔𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 | 𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮 |
| Double Struck | 𝔸𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕒 | 𝕒𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕒 |
| Full Width | Aisha | aisha |
| Italic | 𝐴𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑎 | 𝑎𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑎 |
| Gothic | 𝔄𝔦𝔰𝔥𝔞 | 𝔞𝔦𝔰𝔥𝔞 |
| Bubble | Ⓐⓘⓢⓗⓐ | ⓐⓘⓢⓗⓐ |
If the capital matters to you, the mathematical alphabets — script, fraktur, bold, double-struck, full-width — are the group to stay inside. They are also the group that stays searchable, which we measured separately style by style.
How to make a stylish name in three steps
- Type the name into the box at the top. Spell it exactly as you want it, capital included — some styles will keep it and some will not, which is what the section above is about.
- Choose by destination, not by looks. Instagram display name, WhatsApp profile, a Messenger group: each accepts a different amount of decoration. The sections above are grouped that way for exactly this reason.
- Paste it and check it saved. If the field silently reverts or throws an error, the characters were rejected — go one section plainer and try again.
Nothing is stored. The conversion happens in your browser, so the name you type never reaches a server.
Where a stylish name is accepted
Every platform has more than one name field and they follow different rules, which is the single most common reason a stylish name “does not work”.
| Platform | Accepts styled text | Stays plain |
|---|---|---|
| Name field, bio | Username (@handle) | |
| Profile name, about | Username — built for a restricted character set | |
| Page name, group name, bio | Profile name — disallowed by the name standards | |
| Messenger | Group chat name, nickname | Your own profile name |
The pattern is consistent once you see it: fields that identify you to the system stay plain, fields that describe you to other people accept decoration. Handles, usernames and legal-ish profile names are the first group; display names, group names and bios are the second. We measured which individual styles survive and how much room each one eats in a short field style by style.
Is there a difference between boy and girl stylish names?
Not technically — there is no character in Unicode that is male or female, and every style on this page works on every name. The split exists because it is how people search: “stylish name boy” and “stylish name girl” are both high-volume queries, and the lists behind them have settled into conventions.
Those conventions are worth knowing even if you ignore them. The boys’ lists lean on blackletter and heavy weights with crown and shield marks; the girls’ lists lean on cursive and rounded forms with hearts and petals. They are style traditions, not rules, and mixing them is how a name stops looking like everyone else’s.
Frequently asked questions
Is the stylish name maker free?
Yes, and there is no sign-up or download. Type a name, tap a style, paste it. The conversion runs in your browser.
Why does my stylish name paste as plain text?
The app stripped it. Some fields normalise input, which converts the mathematical alphabets back to ordinary letters on save. If a style keeps reverting, use one from the lookalike group — Small Caps or Stylish Mix — which are not affected by that normalisation.
Why do some letters show as squares?
That device has no font covering those characters. The name itself is fine and will look correct elsewhere. Rarer blocks — runes, braille, Kana lookalikes — are the usual cause, so choose a more common style if your audience is broad.
Why does Facebook reject my stylish name?
Its name standards ask for the name people know you by and disallow symbols and unusual capitalisation, so styled profile names get refused. Page names, group names, Messenger group names and the bio are not covered by that rule.
Which stylish styles keep the capital letter in my name?
76 of the 104 do, including all the mathematical alphabets — script, fraktur, bold, double-struck and full-width. The 28 that do not are mostly single-case Unicode blocks like Small Caps and Squared, plus the deliberate case transforms.
A stylish name is one use of the same character set that styles anything else you type. TextStylish runs any text — a bio line, a group name, a status — through all 104 styles at once, and our editorial approach documents how the measurements on this page were produced.
